I also have some radio shack their NiMH Rechargable batteries they work quite well but I have made some external batteries and really just leave them in because they need to be to use the camera. I would keep the Radioshack charger, much as I recommend the MAHA (it came with a FREE car lighter adaptor which is nice when on a long road tour, to keep the spare sets ready. After about 20 charge cycles they last approximately (see above) as long as when I bought them. One reason I consider the charge rate to be well within the batteries limits. Others have reported batteries getting hot, not here. I would consider a 2 hour a medium charge. I dont recall seeing the MAHA advertised as quick charge. Cant tell the difference really as I dont keep books on either the time or the number of pictures I get from a fresh set. I use both MAHA batteries and Radioshack. Charge time does not bother me one way or the other (always do it before I retire). For what its worth, I bought the MAHA C204F and like it.
